From Korea and Vietnam to today’s active-duty deployments around the world, Adelphi alumni have answered the call to serve their country for generations. Some wore the uniform for a few years; others built lifelong military careers. Many continued their service as educators, healthcare professionals, law enforcement officers, nonprofit leaders and public servants after leaving active duty.<\/p>\n
A powerful thread connects their stories, regardless of whether someone served for four years or 30: almost all our <\/span>Panthers Who Serve<\/span><\/em> acknowledge that service continues after taking off the uniform.<\/span><\/p>\n One became a social worker. One, an educator of future healthcare professionals. Another advocates for veterans. Another leads a nonprofit. And another became a teacher. For these Adelphi alumni, service isn’t an episode in their lives; it is who they are. And, as Andrea Nordquist, a Blue Star Mother, admits, being an Air Force mom “warms your heart” but “doesn’t do much for your nerves.” <\/span><\/p>\n
