Our hope is to promote this legacy, (\u201cMay it live forever\u201d), and its ideals for all those present and future students. (\u201cMay we always faithful be\u201d) Steadfast to those principles of openness and inclusiveness, instilling diversity and exuding school spirit. Ensuring the belief that we are all part of something special, expressed through sports, academics, societies, etc. (\u201cAnd our bonds ne\u2019er sever\u201d) and connected in fairness and friendships that transcend a lifetime.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(&#8220;Though our troubles may be high boys&#8221;)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Eddie, a student athlete and member of ZBE, embraced these ideals. Unfortunately, Eddie&#8217;s life ended way too soon. We hope everyone will remember him, his character and what he stood up for in life. (&#8220;With our standards raised on high boys&#8221;) May Eddie&#8217;s flame burn bright and continue to inspire us.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(&#8220;We will be loyal to our ZBE, ever faithful to our Zeta Beta Epsilon&#8221;)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In furthering these guiding principles, Mr. Rebuth and Mr. Rosenthal, along with the Brothers of Zeta Beta Epsilon, have established a scholarship promoting these character qualities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Eddie Fonseca Memorial Scholarship recipient must meet the following criteria:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Be an undergraduate student at Adelphi<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Have completed at least 30 credits (at least a sophomore) by the time of award receipt\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Be an all-around student who plays an active role in student life and whose involvement makes a difference in the campus community<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Demonstrate strong leadership qualities and community service<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>How to Apply<\/h2>\n<p><b>Students must <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSdRV8iBQ0azrPZUDA1ETba2_QNYQmHoaz86Mi8YYTYEOEF2aQ\/viewform\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">complete the application form<\/a> and have an Adelphi faculty member or administrator write a letter of recommendation. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For questions regarding this application or scholarship, please reach out to The Center for Student and Community Engagement at <a href=\"mailto:engage@adelphi.edu\">engage@adelphi.edu<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>The deadline to apply is September 1, 2025.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Zeta Beta Epsilon started in the early 70\u2019s and quickly became a positive, motivating force on campus.
