Carefully selected from hundreds of applicants, they represent a diverse range of cultures and ethnic backgrounds.<\/p>\n<p>Services include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Individual psychotherapy<\/strong> for adults, adolescents, and children<\/li>\n<li><span><\/span><strong>Family and couples psychotherapy<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Group psychotherapy<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Comprehensive psychological assessments<\/strong> for academic, learning, and emotional and behavioral difficulties for all ages (15-hour commitment)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Psychotherapy services address the needs of adults experiencing a variety of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, eating disorders, personality disorders, traumatic life events, and relationship impasses.<\/p>\n<p>Examples of difficulties experienced by children or adolescents and their families that are treated at our clinics are: attention problems, anxiety and specific phobias (e.g., social anxiety), depression, grief, behavioral problems, peer difficulties, and parenting challenges. We serve Adelphi students as well as people from the surrounding community.<\/p>\n<h2><span>Serving NYC and Long Island<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The Center for Psychological Services provides high-quality, low-cost services at multiple New York clinic locations: the Garden City campus, <span>Manhattan, <\/span>and the Derner Child and Family Center, which is a specialty clinic serving only children, adolescents, and their families.<\/p>\n<h3>Psychotherapy Group for Adults in Garden City<\/h3>\n<p>Each group is run by two advanced 茄子视频 doctoral candidates under the supervision of senior faculty.<\/p>\n<h3>Derner Child and Family Center<\/h3>\n<p>The Derner Child and Family Center, formerly known as the Derner Hempstead Child Clinic, provides low-cost mental health care to students and their families in Hempstead, Long Island, NY school systems.<\/p>\n<h3>Institute for Parenting<\/h3>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adelphi.edu\/parenting-institute\/parents\/\">Institute for Parenting<\/a> focuses on the social-emotional development of families with babies and young children. Located on the Garden City campus, our closely supervised advanced students provide specialized support and dyadic therapy for children under six and their families.<\/p>\n<h3>New Manhattan Clinic<\/h3>\n<p><span>We are happy to announce that our new location for psychotherapy and psychoeducational assessments is on Madison Avenue, New York. We are confident and excited that this new space will exceed expectations and allow us to serve patients in all five boroughs. <\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Who Is This Program For?<\/h2>\n<p>This weekly therapy process group is for adults age 18 and older who are experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma and\/or interpersonal difficulties and who wish to further explore these feelings in a group setting.<\/p>\n<p>Group members report they derive many benefits from coming to group, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Feeling understood by people who have similar struggles<\/li>\n<li>Knowing they are not alone<\/li>\n<li>Having a place where they can feel accepted and talk without feeling judged<\/li>\n<li>Learning about their interpersonal struggles<\/li>\n<li>Having a forum to try out new or difficult behavior, like being direct about feelings and needs<\/li>\n<li>Feeling proud about being able to help others<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Those who are receiving individual psychotherapy are also encouraged to inquire.<\/p>\n<h2>Fees and Payments<\/h2>\n<p>There is no fee for 茄子视频 students and there is a sliding-scale fee for community members.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Center for Psychological Services offers a range of specialized treatment programs for children, adolescents and adults.
