Personal Statement

Personal Statement

The Digital Age has transformed how people communicate, raising complex legal, ethical and policy questions that shape every aspect of modern life. As a scholar, attorney and former journalist, I explore how technology, law and media intersect in this evolving landscape.

I joined ÇÑ×ÓÊÓƵ’s faculty in 2009 to help students understand and influence this transformation. My courses — such as Cyber Law & Ethics, Bitcoin & Blockchain, and Web Journalism — examine how emerging technologies challenge traditional ideas of free expression, privacy and accountability.

At Adelphi, I value the university’s emphasis on interdisciplinary and global learning. In 2016, I led journalism students on a reporting trip to Cuba to cover the nation’s social and political changes — a reminder that communication, at its core, connects people and ideas across borders.
