Personal Statement

Personal Statement

K. Lynn Robinson is an Assistant Professor of Art Education at 茄子视频 in the Ruth S. Ammon College of Education and Health Sciences. She holds a Ph.D. in Arts Administration, Education, and Policy with a concentration in Art Education from The Ohio State University. She began her college studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and earned her Master's degree in Heritage Preservation with a focus on Public History from Georgia State University. She brings to Adelphi an extensive background in exhibit design and activation for arts institutions large and small, along with experience as a curatorial and archival assistant, and as a facilitator of community-based art and teacher development in arts integration.

Her research expands the definition of educators to include caregivers, grounding this work in the fugitive pedagogies of othermothers. She explores how these pedagogical traditions intersect with the arts and community-based educational interventions, contributing to a "village" model of support for young Black learners and those who care for them—both within and beyond the boundaries of formal schooling.

Lynn serves on the editorial review boards of Art Education and the Journal of Social Theory in Art Education (JSTAE), and as an Editorial Assistant for the Journal of Cultural Research in Art Education (jCRAE).
