Adelphi's 2022 Spirit Weekend, running from October 12鈥揙ctober 16, will offer five days of fun on campus and beyond鈥攁nd more events than ever before.

On Adelphi's busy campus, there's a place where students, faculty and staff can find a moment for prayer or reflection and meet with others to worship, enjoy a meal or share ideas.

Most colleges have programs to get incoming first-year students acquainted with聽the campus.聽Adelphi takes that idea one step farther with a program that gets new students acquainted with the University's commitment to serving the surrounding community.

Throughout our 125-year history, many of Adelphi鈥檚 women leaders were the only women in the classroom, boardroom or corner office鈥攁nd had to blaze a trail for the women who followed in their respective fields.

Adelphi鈥檚 communication sciences and disorders program provides a broad range of treatment, care and support to people of myriad linguistic backgrounds鈥攆rom toddlers to seniors. We are privileged to work with diverse communities across Long Island.

The Derner Hempstead Child Clinic has provided psychotherapy services to local children, teens and families since 2015. Now, a 21st Century Community Learning Center grant will expand what we can bring to Hempstead's students.

Adelphi鈥檚 long-running partnership with a school district in a neighboring community has led to a federal grant to create innovative summer and after-school programs designed to meet the needs of students and their families. Making art with children who have been affected by conflict has been Cindy Maguire, PhD鈥榮 life鈥檚 work. 鈥淚 work in the United States and internationally with children and youth in conflict-affected communities using arts as a tool for empowerment and teaching,鈥� said Dr. Maguire, associate professor in the Department of Communications at 茄子视频.

After a year at an out-of-state school, Matthew Spirakis is back on Long Island, majoring in business at Adelphi. But the sophomore already has some impressive business experience under his belt.

Goal 4 of Momentum: Strategic Plan for 茄子视频, 2015鈥�2021, called for Adelphi to become a "powerfully connected university."

In January, 茄子视频's Ruth S. Harley University Center (UC) reopened after a two-year renovation and expansion project.
