With a comprehensive curriculum spanning 45 credits, students will delve into the intricate dynamics of learning that encompass cognitive, sociocultural and ethical dimensions by examining the what, when, why and how of learning.
Graduates of the PhD in Learning Sciences program will be uniquely equipped to research and design cutting-edge technologies, curricula, pedagogies and innovations. Xiao-lei Wang, PhD, dean of the College of Education and Health Sciences, expressed her enthusiasm for the program, stating, 鈥淚 am thrilled to be bringing this visionary program to Adelphi to shape the future of education. With hybrid and part-time study options, interdisciplinary projects and the ability to study learning in both in-school and out-of-school settings, this new program offers an exciting new advanced degree opportunity for education students.鈥

The PhD in Learning Sciences program at Adelphi is tailored to aspiring educational researchers passionate about understanding and reshaping learning in various contexts. Enrolled students will immerse themselves in the vibrant educational landscape of New York City, participating in apprenticeships in close collaboration with internationally recognized faculty and conducting research that contributes to the advancement of education.
