Super Bowl Media Stars Hail from ÇÑ×ÓÊÓÆµ

The Super Bowl is the biggest event for not only football fans but for the biggest brands to air commercials to a national audience estimated at more than 170 million people. Thus, the talent on the field is just as important as the talent involved with the commercials.

The talents and creativity of ÇÑ×ÓÊÓÆµ alumni will be showcased in commercials from Chevrolet, Samsung Electronics, and Best Buy.

, 26, won the Chevrolet Route 66 advertising competition. In addition to winning the $25,000 prize, his commercial titled,ÌýÌýwill air during the Super Bowl on Sunday, February 5. Chevrolet said Borst’s ad beat out competitors in a field of 400 scripts and 198 films by independent filmmakers from 32 countries. Michael Ilkiw ’07 also worked on the Chevrolet commercial as the camera operator, and assisted with producing and casting.

Peter Friedman ’72, president and partner ofÌý, served as the television production consultant forÌý‘ commercials. Friedman oversaw the filming of the commercials and acted as the production liaison between the ad agency and Samsung. For more than 30 years, Friedman has worked on global brands such as Coca-Cola, Pepsi, MasterCard, Verizon and Nike, to name a few. The Samsung spot will air in the early part of the fourth quarter during the Super Bowl.

Ìýis an actor (first to speak) in aÌýÌýspot. In addition, he has done voiceover and commercial work for Sour Patch Kids,ÌýInvincibles,ÌýAlvin and The Chipmunks, Outback Steakhouse, and Disney.
