English Undergraduate Writing Awards
Showcase your voice and be recognized for your writing. The Department of English invites undergraduate students to submit their best work for this year鈥檚 Writing Award Competition.
This competition is open to undergraduate students only, and each contestant may submit one entry. Submissions should be sent by email to clancy@adelphi.edu.
There are four award categories: an essay award for literary criticism, literary theory, or literary history; a creative nonfiction writing award; the Donald Everett Axinn Award in creative writing for fiction; and the Donald Everett Axinn Award in creative writing for poetry.
The deadline for all submissions is Friday, April 17, 2026 at 4:00 p.m.

- 15 pages, double-spaced, maximun.

- Your entry should have a cover sheet with your name, contest name, address, phone number, and your email
