The ÇÑ×ÓÊÓƵ Performing Arts Center (Adelphi PAC) continues its 11th season this spring with more than 40 cultural events for the campus and community, showcasing a variety of styles of music, dance and plays. Entertainers include such top names as Garden City native John Tesh, Broadway’s Norm Lewis, the Irish group Dervish and The Four Seasons’ Charles Calello, as well as Adelphi’s own talented students.

Tesh’s show on Friday, May 10, is expected to be a special one with the six-time music Emmy winner and two-time Grammy nominee offering an evening of music and storytelling. Tesh boasts a thriving recording and live concert career and is an international TV and radio entertainer.

Friday,ÌýFebruary 15—Norm Lewis

Broadway veteran Norm Lewis takes the stage on Valentine’s Day weekend. Tony-nominated Lewis was most recently seen in the NBC television specialÌýJesus Christ Superstar Live inÌýConcert!Ìýalongside John Legend and Sara Bareilles. He also recently appeared in the Broadway revival ofÌýOnce on This IslandÌýand as the lead in the off-Broadway production ofÌýSweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. In May 2014, he made history asÌýThe Phantom of the Opera‘s first African American Phantom on Broadway. His Broadway and West End credits also includeÌýThe Gershwins’ Porgy and Bess,ÌýSondheim on Sondheim, The Little Mermaid, Les Misérables, Chicago, Amour, The Wild Party, Side Show, Miss Saigon, andÌýThe Who’s Tommy. Tuesday, February 26, through Sunday, March 3—Agatha Christie’sÌýThe Hollow

Adelphi’s Department of Theatre presents Agatha Christie’sÌýThe Hollow,Ìýa whodunit revolving around passionate love, lost love, explosive love and deadly love. The setting is over a weekend at The Hollow, home of Sir Henry and the eccentric Lucy Angkatell. The lothario Dr. Cristow is at the center of the trouble when, assembled in one place, we find his wife, his mistress and his former lover. Also visiting are Edward and Midge with their own set of related and not-related romantic problems. It seems nearly everyone has a motive as the list of potential suspects grows when Cristow is shot dead.

Friday, March 1—Dervish

For more than 25 years, Dervish has been delighting audiences worldwide with traditional Irish music. The six-member group, renowned for its live performances, has 12 studio and live albums to date. Talented artists include Shane Mitchell (accordion), Liam Kelly (flute/whistle), Brian McDonagh (mandola/mandolin), Michael Holmes (bouzouki), Tom Morrow (fiddle) and singer Cathy Jordan, who is also a bodhran (drum) player and one of Ireland’s best-known singers.

Saturday, March 23—What Would Petula Do?ÌýA Tribute to Petula Clark Starring Maxine Linehan

International concert and recording artist Maxine Linehan brings her acclaimed solo concert,ÌýWhat Would Petula Do?Ìýto the Adelphi PAC. Linehan and her band offer a musical journey of Petula Clark’s career from her early, popular recordings in the 1940s, through her megastardom in the 1960s, to her award-winning performances in film and on Broadway right up to the 1990s. Songs includeÌýI Know a Place,ÌýDon’t Sleep in the Subway,ÌýColor My World,ÌýOld Devil Moon,ÌýThe Sound of Music,ÌýThis Is My SongÌýand, of course,ÌýDowntown.

Sunday, April 7—Oh What A Night!: An Afternoon With Charles Calello

Former member of The Four Seasons and one of the greatest arrangers of our time, Charles Calello, along with his big band, provides an afternoon of entertainment. Besides The Four Seasons, Calello has arranged and produced several other hit records, including “The Name Game” with Shirley Ellis, “Navy Blue” with Diane Renay, “A Lover’s Concerto” with The Toys and “Lightnin’ Strikes” with Lou Christie. His recordings include more Top 10 hits than any other arranger, 15 of which have been nominated for Grammy Awards.

Friday, May 10—John Tesh:ÌýStories and Songs From the Grand Piano

Garden City native John Tesh impresses with six music Emmys, two Grammy nominations, three gold records, seven public television specials, 50-plus recordings and 8 million records sold. His 25-year career has included concerts around the world where he might be at the solo piano or with a 12-piece big band or an 80-piece orchestra. He has played the Coliseum in Rome, Carnegie Hall in New York City and The Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. His live television concerts, includingÌýLive at Red Rocks, have raised more than $20 million for public television.

Tesh’s career has spanned TV and radio as a broadcaster, including his six-days-a-weekÌýIntelligence For Your LifeÌýradioÌýand television programs. His successful and multifaceted career has included a string of No. 1 radio hits, aÌýKeyboard MagazineÌýPerformance award, 12 years as an investigative journalist for the CBS TV network, a 10-year run as anchor onÌýEntertainment Tonight, serving as broadcast host and music composer for the Barcelona and Atlanta Olympic Games, and the unique distinction of composing what critics have hailed as “the greatest sports theme song in television history,” for NBC Sports’ NBA telecasts.

The season runs until early June with select additional events including theÌýTrio SolistiÌýchamber music ensemble in February; composer-vocalistÌýLisa BielawaÌýand theÌýAdelphi Symphony OrchestraÌýin March; a celebration of the next generation of artists with 2018 Jonathan Larson Grant winnersÌýZoe Sarnak and Emily Kaczmarek, also in March; the men’s vocal ensembleÌýCantus, presentingÌýAlone Together, andÌýDance Adelphi, performing an iconic work by Martha Graham in April; the family showÌýMadeline and the Bad HatÌýin May; and theÌýChamber Orchestra of New YorkÌýclosing the season in June.
